Hauora Programmes
Health & well-being programmes to enhance whānau health
Improving Māori Health
Whanake Rangitāne o Manawatū Trust delivers kaupapa Māori hauora programmes to uplift the health and wellbeing of whānau Māori across the Manawatū.
Our programmes have been designed by whānau, for whānau - addressing key Māori health priorities and empowering whānau to take charge of their hauora through a mātauranga Māori lens.
Our wānanga and activities focus on a range of hauora and mātauranga Māori topics such as:
Tuakiritanga (Identity): Pēpēhā, Te Reo Māori, Whakapapa, Purakau
Rongoā Māori
Hauora: Health prevention screenings, Physical activity and exercise
Kai: Nutrition and healthy kai
Tamariki: Oral health
Kaumātua: Falls prevention
Supporting whānau undergoing cancer treatment
Since 2022, Whanake Rangitāne o Manawatū Trust has been delivering hauora wānanga across the Manawatū. We create safe, inclusive spaces where whānau can learn, connect, and feel supporting in managing their hauora.
Our wānanga support whānau to reclaim, restore, and strengthen their hauora, resillience, and connection to te ao Māori. We also identify and help reduce barriers that impact Māori health.
Check out our Facebook page to stay up to date with wānanga events.
